Guessing what parasistes and diseases your koi may have can make things worse by treating for the wrong ailment. As seen in the diseases section, a microscope is an essential peice of equiptment for correct diagnosis, and therefore correct treatment.

Identification of koi parasites is not an exacting science and as such it is not necessary to spend a lot of money on a microscope. 100-400 times magnification is ideal.

This microscope is ideal for parasite identification. Magnification range is from 40X to 800X. This microscope has inbuilt illumination with rheostat control that allows the intensity to be adjusted to suit the magnification in use. It has a mechanical stage which means the slide can be moved by way of two wheels. This is much more accurate than moving the slide by hand. It has three objective lenses (x4, x10, x40) these optics are made from achromatic corrected glass. Aso included are two eyepieces (x10 and x20), a spare bulb and spare fuse.

Free with this kit is a fish disease kit which contains slides and coverslips, Lolly sticks and cotton buds for skin and gill scrapes, sample slides, stains and everything to get you going including an illustrated book on identification.
